Personal Story:
I saw an ad for this item when I was visiting Hong Kong in 2003. I asked the bookstore if they had it but they said it wasn't out yet. I was really disappointed since I was going to be leaving the country before it arrived. Well, six months later, I found out they were re-released from someone in a gashapon Yahoo group. I preordered all five volumes of these babies online and here they are. Whee.

Introduction:
This figure is included with a manga book by Media Works. This figure is based on one of the characters in the book. It shows the character from a scene or theme that's depicted in the book. It was originally released in late 2003 but was re-released in 2004 since it was so popular. The figure itself was actually made by Kaiyodo and Movic but since Media Works was in charge of the entire package, I decided to give them full credit. There were five books in the series with a different figure included with each issue. You are looking at the first volume. The figures and cover art were designed and sculpted by Ooshima Yuuki. He's wildly popular in Japan.

Sculpt:
Absolutely adorable. This is one of the most detailed figures I've ever seen in this gashapon scale. The figure is way too cute. It depicts her holding an eraser trying to clean the top section of the chalkboard. She has a very cute face and a very cute pose. The outfit is well done with a lot of details. Her skirt and panties (which look more like diapers) is just as detailed. Even her sneakers are well sculpted with tiny grooves etc. Very cool.

Anyways, let's move on to the accessories. She comes with two outfits. They are identical except one is done in a tan color and the other is a dark blue color. It's a cool option. But, there is a somewhat perverted factor here. When I decided to change her outfit, I found that she was completely topless underneath! It's somewhat perverted because they even sculpted her chest out. They could've easily sculpted her completely flat or have her wearing a tank top or t-shirt. But they decided to give her small boobs so perverts out there can display her topless. Innocence lost I guess. I had planned on showing you a pic of it so you'll know what I'm talking about, but it felt too weird to do that. Just use your imagination.

The backdrop is amazing. They sculpted a piece of the chalkboard, two pieces of paper (with thumbtacks!) on the wall and the lower wall and protractor. Even small pieces of chalk on the rail were sculpted there too! Very detailed. The chair is equally amazing. They managed to sculpt out a real looking chair with all the little screws etc. I was blown away. Everything was easily assembled with no problems. A truly excellent piece.

The included book features art by four to five artists with four different stories. All the art is amazingly good and very cute. The stories are written in Japanese but you can sort of figure out what they're about. There is one story without text and it's very sweet and innocent. The rest is crazy cute.

Paint:
Extremely well done for a figure of this size. It's very clean throughout. The details with the eyes and backdrop are superbly done. The colors are nice and bright. It's very colorful throughout. The small marks and numbers on the pieces of papers and chalkboard is very well done. They even made the mark where the eraser erased the board which is very cool. Even the screws on the chair were individually painted! Everything about this figure and set is very impressive. Great job.

Overall: A+
This is an ultra adorable figure made with the highest possible quality for its size. Anyone who likes cute anime girls should definitely check them out!

Where can I find this?
Pretty tough. Many online stores in Japan are the only ones who have them and they're selling out fast (as of this review). If you can't find them there, Ebay or Yahoo auctions in Japan are the only way to go. They aren't well known outside Japan so they're pretty hard to find.

Other Images:

The box. Adorable illustration on the cover and a very clean design. It works VERY well.

The included book. Superb art and cute characters.

"Being short suxorz!"

The side. I'm still amazed with all the little details in the backdrop.

The extra shirt.

The back. The skirt is way too short for her age...
