Type: Action Figure

Personal Story:
Not much of a journey. I didn't feel like hunting for this figure when its released so I preordered it.

Introduction:
This figure was made by Joyride Studios. This figure is based on the character Master Chief from the video game, Halo. This figure shows Master Chief in all his glory. This is from the second series where Master Chief wields some new weapons.

Sculpt:
Since this figure's sculpt is exactly the same as the series one version, I'd advise you to read that review for information on the sculpt. I'll be making some passing remarks and observations between this version and that version.

The main difference between this version and the series one version are the guns. They included the rocket launcher, shotgun and pistol. The sculpt is excellent but rather boring. It would've been nice if the rocket launcher could open up like in the game. Also, Master Chief can't hold the rocket launcher up the way he can in the game. It's not the sculptor's fault but it would've been nice if it was possible for Chief to hold it up like in the game. Oh well.

I'm not sure if it's just me, but the right leg seems longer than left. This quirk can also be found with the red version in this series. Weird.

Paint:
The Master Chief figure himself has the exact same color as the series one Master Chief. The only noticeable difference is that there seems to be more black colors airbrushed on him. It makes the figure look darker and more damaged. I'm not sure if its an isolated incident or on purpose.

The same inaccurate colors for the guns have returned! Ugh. I was hoping they would fix it but it's just as horrible as the previous series. The pistol is accurately painted just like series one but the rocket launcher and shotgun is a big mess. The shotgun is supposed to be a mix of dark gray and silver but it's painted with the same hideous dark purple and grayish paint. The same can be said for the rocket launcher which is supposed to be black and reddish tan. They got the tan right but the black parts are painted with the same stupid purple paint. Hey Joyride, what gives??? Is someone at the factory color blind? Why are all the black and silver parts painted with this weird purple paint? I can't tell you how disappointed I am with the colors. What a piss poor job.

The overall paint job is very clean and the words on the rocket launcher are crystal clear. They've done an excellent job with that. But the hideous inaccurate colors really piss me off.

Overall: A
Same great level of detail and fun as the series one version. It's worth getting for the new weapons if you want to collect the entire arsenal of human weapons. But the same inaccurate colors for the guns really hurt this great figure. Joyride needs to step up and fix those damn colors with the guns. I still don't understand why they can't use black paint for the black parts...

Where can I find this?
Just released as of this review so you'll find it easily in all the usual places.
